Health and nutrition: what this site will and will not claim
Written by The Kalcule Team · Last updated August 17, 2026
Kalcule publishes calculators and explainers. We cite formulas. We do not diagnose, treat, or rank “best diets.” This hub page points you to the tools and to medical care when the question is clinical.
What we offer
BMI, body fat, lean mass, calories, macros, protein, carbohydrate, fat, pregnancy dating, ovulation estimates, blood alcohol estimates, dates and inflation. Each tool page names its equation. Protein and adult macro ranges follow the Institute of Medicine Dietary Reference Intakes.
What we do not offer
Personalised medical nutrition therapy, allergy plans, eating-disorder treatment, or a promise that a number equals health.
How to use the library
Start with the calculator for your question, read the FAQ, follow the related articles, then talk to a licensed professional if the result will change medication, training for a disease, or pregnancy care. Credentials: see the About page.
Credentials
See the About page. We do not invent a medical board we do not have. Transparency is the trust signal.
Where to start
Open the calculator library, pick the tool that matches the question, read the FAQ on that page, then stop if the result would change medication, pregnancy care, or training around a disease. The About page explains how formulas are chosen and what we will not claim.
How articles and calculators fit together
Articles on this site are explainers for the tools: what a deficit is, how body-fat methods disagree, why time is the only sobering agent. They are not care plans. Each one should send you back to a calculator or to a clinician.
If you arrived from a search that sounded clinical — hormones, addiction, pregnancy — treat the page as a map of what we will not do. The About page is the credentials statement.
A short list of things we will not invent
We will not invent a medical board, a “team of experts,” or a guarantee that a number equals health. We will not sell a detox, a hormone reset, or a driving-safe blood-alcohol number.
We will name the equation on each calculator page. Protein and adult macro ranges follow the Institute of Medicine Dietary Reference Intakes. That is the product. Use it as education, then close the tab if the next step is a person with a licence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Scope of Kalcule nutrition content.
No.
You can use the numbers as education. Clinical conditions need clinicians.
No.
They are written to match cited public formulas and public-health ranges. A named medical reviewer will appear in the byline if we add one.
The one that matches the question: energy (calories), composition (BMI / body fat), or a specific tool like blood alcohol calculator. The library lists them all.
No. We have numbers and explainers.
No. We are not your clinic. Use the contact page for site issues, not medical questions.
Because the product is the equation, not an endless blog. The article should make the inputs honest.
