Are my macros healthy? How to tell
Written by The Kalcule Team · Last updated 2026年8月18日
Healthy macros sit inside a reasonable calorie range, include enough protein and fibre, do not chronically wipe out a food group without a reason, and leave room to live. Lab work and symptoms still beat a spreadsheet.
Check energy first
A “perfect” split at 1,000 kcal for a large active adult is not healthy. Use the calorie calculator before decorating the ratio.
AMDR as a sanity band
Adult AMDRs (roughly 10–35% protein, 45–65% carbohydrate, 20–35% fat) are wide. Sitting slightly outside them can be fine; sitting far outside them for months deserves a reason and maybe a professional.
Fibre, plants and repeatability
If the split only works on chicken, oil and whey, it is fragile. If you are exhausted, injured, or losing menstrual cycles, the split is not “working.”
When to stop tracking
Health includes mental load. If macros are running your mood, that is a signal to loosen the system and, if needed, get eating-disorder-informed care.
よくある質問
Judging whether a macro split is sensible.
It can be used medically or personally with monitoring. It is not the default healthy split on this site.
In healthy kidneys, sports-range intakes are generally considered acceptable. Disease states need clinicians.
No. Body size, sex and training differ.
Bloodwork can flag problems. It cannot crown a 40/30/30 split as universally optimal.
